Rebates for Dietitian & Nutrition, Central Coast
Many clients are eligible for rebates through Medicare and Private Health Funds. For more information about what rebates you are entitled to, please check with your GP or health fund.
Medicare Rebates
Meegan is a registered provider for Medicare. Please speak with your GP prior to making your appointment to see if you are eligible for a referral under the GP Management Plan (GPMP) or Team Care Arrangement (TCA) plan. Dietitian services are usually covered under these plans for patients with a chronic medical disease or complex care needs. A chronic medical condition is one that has been, or likely to be, present for at least 6 months. Including, but is not limited to: asthma, cancer, diabetes, cardiovascular disease, musculoskeletal conditions and stroke. If you are under a GPMP or TCA plan Medicare can provide rebates for up to 5 visits a year for Dietitian services.
Private Health Funds
Most private health funds cover Dietitian and Nutrition consultations. Please check with your private health fund to see what rebate they can provide.
Department of Veterans Affairs
Meegan is a registered provider for the Department of Veterans Affairs (DVA). If you have a current referral from your GP, there will be no out of pocket expense to you as this service will be bulk billed.
Residential Aged Care Facilities
Residential Aged Care Facilities/Nursing Homes will be invoiced per individual resident assessment or at an hourly rate. Fees for menu review, assessment and development as well as staff in-servicing will also be charged at an hourly rate. To discuss your facilities needs please contact Meegan.
